After wanting to start a food photo blog for ages, I’ve finally decided to take the plunge and get down to it properly this year. What brought this on?

I think the turning point was after, once again, I successfully made my mum salivate from over 500km away with a random unassuming email of stuff I’d just whipped up in my kitchen. It goes as follows:

Dear mumsy, (don’t judge me. I only really call her that to bug her)

I wish you were here. I’ve been craving some good home-made muffins all week, so finally yesterday I made a batch of the most divine muffins ever. They’re bursting with chunks of fresh apples and dried blueberries, with a hint of cinnamon, brown sugar and hazelnuts. And oh so fluffy and light. I’m having one as my tea-thing right now and thought of you.   Don’t worry, I will bring other treats at Christmas for you!

And true to my promise, I did bring her treats at Christmas – amongst them, Baileys-hazelnut choco balls and cherry liqueur-almond ones too! Yum!
